Novak Djokovic can record an easy win over Jeremy Chardy on Tuesday
Novak Djokovic faces Jeremy Chardy in the opening round of Wimbledon 2011 and the Serb can score an easy victory.
Novak Djokovic missed the AEGON Championships due to fatigue but the world number two will be fully rested and raring to go at Wimbledon on Tuesday, when he begins his campaign against Jeremy Chardy.
The Serb has been enjoying a career best season and his run of victories from the start of the year until the French Open semi finals is a record for the most consecutive wins on the ATP Tour. He is playing fantastic tennis and his returning is now as good, if not better than that of Rafael Nadal.
Djokovic is 1/66, at
Victor Chandler, to beat Chardy on Tuesday in his opening match at the All England Club and although the odds are ridiculously short, there are very few safer bets around. In five meetings with the Frenchman, the Serb has never lost a set and the last time they played, in Toronto last year, Djokovic was an easy 6-2, 6-3 winner.
It is 2/7, at Betfred, that he wins in straight sets at Wimbledon and big hitters will be steaming in at that price, with the 11/10, at
Stan James, that the world number two covers a 9.5 game handicap also likely to attract plenty of bets.
Chardy is a massive 24/1 (
Unibet) to pull off an upset on Tuesday but the world number 52 is a poor player on grass and it would be a surprise if he managed to break Djokovic's serve and to avoid being broken at least twice in one set.
Recommendation
Match Handicap (-9.5 Games) - Novak Djokovic (11/10,
Stan James)
