What a day of high drama on Monday, with Serena Williams and Caroline Wozniacki crashing out of the women’s singles leaving the top half of the draw wide open.

Tuesday promises to be equally as exciting, with the four quarter finals from the women’s singles tournament scheduled to be played and that includes Sabine Lisicki playing against Marion Bartoli.

Bartoli was the surprise winner against Serena Williams, while Lisicki has knocked out Li Na on the way to the quarter finals. It promises to be a close match.

Victoria Azarenka was available at 16/1 before the tournament although those odds have now disappeared and the fourth seed is the highest ranked player left in Wimbledon. The Belarussian will face Tamira Paszek for a place in the quarter finals.

Maria Sharapova has eased into the quarter finals with the minimum of fuss and she will face Dominika Cibulkova, someone who was victorious against Caroline Wozniacki after losing the first set 6-1.

Women’s quarter final matches
Tamira Paszek v Victoria Azarenka
Sabine Lisicki v Marion Bartoli
Maria Sharapova v Dominika Cibulkova
Petra Kvitova v Tsvetana Pironkova
