Ana Ivanovic and Petra Cetkovska are aiming for the fourth round and week two of Wimbledon. They will meet on Saturday for the right to advance. You can watch and bet on the action from Wimbledon at bet365Ana Ivanovic might not have entered this year’s Wimbledon as one of the favourites, but it might be worth keeping an eye on her performances now, given that she’s a former world No. 1 and that she thrashed Eleni Daniilidou in round two, 6-3, 6-0. Ivanovic hasn’t been in her best form this season, but her experience at this level could really boost her chances of making it into week two of the All England Club.
The Serb will continue her challenge this week with a third round matchup against Petra Cetkovska of the Czech Republic. Ivanovic beat Cetkovska in the only previous meeting between the pairing at the French Open, which she eventually won, in 2008. Whilst Saturday’s match will be played on grass, the fact that Ivanovic beat Cetkovska 6-0, 6-0 in Paris seems worthy of note.
Cetkovska is the world No. 81, but no stranger to causing an upset. She recorded a shock victory over thirteenth seed Agnieszka Radwanska in round two (3-6, 7-6, 6-4), and will surely be brimming with confidence. Ivanovic will need to act fast to stamp her authority on Saturday’s match, but if she can, she should be able to progress.
