Rafael Nadal and Andy Murray have met at Wimbledon twice before. They set up a third meeting later this week with quarterfinal wins on Wednesday.
Rafael Nadal vs Andy Murray was a semifinal match that most were hoping for when the draw for Wimbledon was first released. Both players won their quarterfinal matches on Wednesday and with those results they have have set up a re-match from last year in the Wimbledon semifinals on Friday.
Nadal defeated Mardy Fish in four sets 6-3, 6-3, 5-7, 6-4 on day 9 while Murray defeated Lopez 6-3, 6-4, 6-4.
Nadal is 11-4 against Murray heads up and they have twice met at Wimbledon over the years. Nadal won both of those matches in straight sets including last year's semifinal en route to the Wimbledon title.
The other quarterfinals on Wednesday, Day 9 from Wimbledon, saw Novak Djokovic defeat Bernard Tomic in four sets while Jo-Wilfried Tsonga defeated Roger Federer in five sets.
Federer became the only player in the top four not to make the semifinals as he fell in the quarters for the second straight year.
