Federer looked to be in cruise control after winning the first two sets and over £38,000 was traded on the six-time champion at odds of 1.01. A further £865,000 was traded at odds of 1/50, with many customers believing that the world number three was home and hosed.
However, as Tsonga completed his comeback, those backing at such short odds will have started to worry, while those betfair customers who had decided to lay Federer at 1.05 and lower will have been starting to raise their hopes.
