Roger Federer will face David Nalbandian in the third round for the right to go to the second week of this year's Wimbledon tournament.
Watch and bet on Wimbledon 2011 at bet365>live tennis (Friday's schedule includes Rafael Nadal, Andy Murray).
Roger Federer is the outright favorite to win Wimbledon 2011 with several well established sportsbooks including bet365 who price the three seed at 15/8 in the outright winner's market. When one looks at the draw that Federer has through the next two rounds there does not appear to be a major roadblock in the Swiss Maestro's way ahead of the quarterfinals.
David Nalbandian is up next and while the Argentine is once a runner-up at Wimbledon he is currently playing in his first draw at SW19 since 2008.
He has not actually won a third round match at Wimbledon since making the quarters back in 2005 and he's not seen the fourth round of any major since the 2007 French Open.
Seeded 28th and having lost a set to Andreas Maider-Maurer in the second round, there is not much to hint at an upset in favor of Nalbandian on Saturday when he faces Federer.
Most will surely be putting the three seed through to the fourth round and in fact the Swiss Maestro looks like a cinch for the quarters as, surviving Nalbandian, Federer will face either Nicolas Almagro or Mikhail Youzhny in the round of 16 on Monday.
