Former British No.1 and U.S Open finalist Greg Rusedski believes that Andy Murray can go all the way at Wimbledon this time around.
Murray, ranked No.3 in the world, comes into the grasscourt showpiece in excellent form following a decent quarterfinal finish on the clay at Roland Garros, his least favourite surface. Rusedski stated that Murray’s form and World Ranking has heaped more expectation on him than ever before:
‘Andy Murray comes into the grass-court season in his best form. Making the semi-finals at Wimbledon is now a realistic prospect and the world No.3 is quite capable of going all the way.’ Said Rusedski, who went on to say that he believes Murray’s attitude to be in much better order following his triumphs over the other top ranked players, commenting:
‘Last year he would still get upset easily and his body language was often not good at crucial stages of matches. But after beating Nadal, Roger Federer and Novak Djokovic consistently over the last year, he knows he can compete with the best.’
Andy Murray is now a clear 10/3 second favourite with Bet 365 to triumph at Wimbledon this year, and win his first career Grand Slam.
