Serena Williams Wimbledon 2011 Upset

Wimbledon Live Staff - 27 Jun 2011
Serena Williams was not able to stay with Marion Bartoli in their fourth round match at the All England Club.

Serena Williams started Wimbledon 2011 as tournament favourite but the four-time winner tournament winner was knocked out by Marion Bartoli in the fourth round on Monday.

The world number 9 was clearly pumped for the contest and she served magnificently throughout the match, with Bartoli taking the first set 6-3 after breaking midway through the first set.

The second set was a tense affair, although Bartoli broke Williams in the 11th game to take a 6-5 lead and then had two match points at 40-15 before the reigning champion got the score back to Deuce.

The set went to a tie-break and Bartoli was able to edge things to go through to the quarter final at the expense of Serena.
