Stosur Switches Coach

Wimbledon Live Staff - 18 Jun 2009

French Open semi finalist Samantha Stosur has switched back to her former coach David Taylor ahead of this year’s Wimbledon Championships.

The Aussie, who surprised many with her superb performance at Roland Garros, has recently been working with coach Rene Moller, after Taylor accepted a job from Tennis Australia to develop young talent through to the professional circuit in February. Stosur claims that she has been in constant contact with Taylor throughout the last few months however, and she was keen to team back up with the man who helped her recover from a serious illness back in 2007, an illness which threatened the end of her career.

"I've been in contact with Dave all year for the three or four months that I was with Rene and I wanted to continue that," said Stosur. ‘He was able to do it, so that’s what we’ve done’’.

Stosur is in high spirits ahead of SW19, and she is confident that she can repeat the form which she has recently shown at the French Open. The Australian is a 33/1 chance with Hills for Wimbledon glory, something which would be somewhat of a fairytale if she manages to win the title, considering her battle with illness only a couple of year’s ago.
