Victoria Azarenka wasn't on the short list of favorites when Wimbledon started however she was always a peripheral threat. She's definitely a favorite now as the top seeded player remaining in the tournament.
Victoria Azarenka was seeded fourth for Wimbledon 2011 and the Belarussian has not experienced too many problems en route to the quarter-finals. The 21-year-old has only dropped one set so far in the tournament and with Na Li, Caroline Wozniacki, and Vera Zvonareva all out of the event, Azarenka is now the top ranked player remaining in the draw.
Strangely, she was available at odds of 16/1 before the tournament started despite her high seeding and the fact that Vika was in the favourable half of the draw. She is now among the favourites and must fancy her chances of reaching the final.
Even so, Tamira Paszek has worked hard to reach this stage of the tournament, getting the best of Pervak in her fourth round match on Monday after her opponent won 6-2 in the second set.
Azarenka and Paszek will meet in the second match of the day for Court No. 1 with a stadium start time of 13:00 (UK time).
