The Women’s Singles draw for Wimbledon has taken place, and the Williams sisters have will once again find themselves in separate halves of the draw, meaning another Final clash is potentially on the cards.
Serena Williams, twice Wimbledon Champion and current 16/5 favourite for this year’s title with Betfair, gets underway against Neuza Silva, whilst Venus faces Stefanie Voegele in round one.
Dinara Safina may be the biggest obstacle standing in the way of Venus Williams in her side of the draw, and the Russian kicks off her campaign against Lourdes Dominguez, whilst Elena Dementieva looks to be the strongest threat to Serena Williams’s chances of another SW19 final, and they could well meet in the semi-finals.
Elsewhere, Britain’s Laura Robson has been handed a tough match for her Wimbledon debut. She is set to face Slovakia’s World No.33 Daniella Hantuchova, who is a former US Open semi finalist and Wimbledon quarter finalist. The Wimbledon Championships get underway on Monday June 22.
