Watch and bet on Djokovic vs Tsonga at bet365>live tennis.
Novak Djokovic, a two-time Grand Slam champion, has matched his best Wimbledon result as he defeated Bernard Tomic in the Wimbledon quarterfinals on Wednesday to advance to the tournament's semifinals.
Djokovic has twice made it that far at Wimbledon, including last season when he suffered an upset loss to Tomas Berdych. The final score against Tomic ended at 6-2, 3-6, 6-3, 7-5.
Djokovic will next face Jo-Wilfried Tsonga as the French player defeated Roger Federer on Wednesday in what was a shocking loss from the All England Club.
Should Djokovic win his Wimbledon semifinal he would become the world number one regardless of whether or not he wins the final itself. Djokovic can also become world number one if Nadal loses in any round at Wimbledon, even if Djokovic should falter in the upcoming semifinal.
Despite the loss, the result at Wimbledon for Tomic still represents progress as the Aussie will easily crack the top 100 and it looks as though Grand Slam qualifying matches may be a thing of the past for the 18 year old.
