Marion Bartoli's impressive run through four rounds of the 2011 Wimbledon draw came to an end on Tuesday as she fell to Sabine Lisicki.

Sabine Lisicki looked like she could have crumbled in the Wimbledon quarterfinals on Tuesday as she failed to execute on three match point opportunities in the second set of her quarterfinal match at Wimbledon 2011. However Lisicki fought back against Marion Bartoli to win the third set and she took down the match 6-4, 6-7, 6-1.

Bartoli's efforts were very inspirational and her drive, even when facing near impossible circumstances, remained high but she may have been too tired after such an emotionally draining match just the day before against Serena Williams, a match that saw Bartoli summon up all her strengths to eliminate the four-time Wimbledon champion.

Lisicki is now into her first Grand Slam semifinal after making the quarters at Wimbledon in 2009. She will face Maria Sharapova in the semifinals, a player who won her quarterfinal match as well on Tuesday 6-1, 6-1, over Dominika Cibulkova.

Sharapova is the only player in the Wimbledon draw who has won a Grand Slam tournament in the past and many consider her to be the favorite. However Lisicki could be the hottest player on tour right now as she won WTA Birmingham earlier this month and she now has won five matched in Wimbledon's main draw.
